Time To Remember is our annual event close to Christmas time that is designed to honour those we have lost. The festive period can be especially challenging for many who have lost friends or family to suicide, and we wanted to provide a safe space for the community to come together and remember the happy memories that we cherish.
This year, Time to Remember will take place at Great Lumley Community Centre. While a change of date due to external clashes meant we were unable to return to our usual venue, we’re pleased to be returning to a place that holds a special part of our history. Our journey as a registered charity began at the community centre, and Time to Remember has been held there before.
We’ll be holding two sessions to give you a choice of which feels right for you:
9:30am–12:15pm – 16+ session
1:00pm–3:45pm – Open to all ages
Both sessions will include candle lighting, music and words of reflection, with time to remember those we love and connect with others who understand.
The afternoon session is open to everyone and isn’t just for those attending with children. If you prefer the event to have more atmosphere and a strong community feel, then the second session will be the one for you. Those over 16 are welcome to attend the event that they feel will be the best fit for their remembrance. Children will also have the opportunity to take part in a separate activity.
The event is free to attend. Whether you attend with family, friends or on your own, you are welcome.
We look forward to coming together with you to remember, reflect and support one another as we enter the festive period.
