Sam Hunter Project Manager

What do you do at If U Care Share?
I help shape the vision and keep the details moving at If U Care Share. As Project Manager, I take the lead on developing strong relationships with our stakeholders, managing a diverse portfolio of projects and making sure our operations tick along smoothly.

With a background in design, I bring a creative mindset to everything I do—whether I’m building our online systems, implementing future-facing plans, or offering tech support across the charity. I’m hands-on, detail-driven, and always looking for ways to turn “what if” into “we can”.

Why did you join If U Care Share?
My connection to this work goes back further than my time on staff. I’ve always been aware of the impact of suicide—even though I’m fortunate not to have personally lost someone to it—because early on I saw how one family’s loss could spark meaningful change. That awareness led me to fundraise, join youth focus groups, volunteer, and ultimately commit full-time in 2016. I’ve grown with this organisation, held different roles along the way, and I’m passionate about seeing how far we can go next.

If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Japan used to be top of my list and I was lucky enough to make that trip a reality! It lived up to every expectation: the culture, design, and balance between tradition and innovation were incredible to experience first-hand.

Now that I’ve ticked that off, I’ve got my sights set on exploring more of Asia or maybe South America next. I love immersing myself in new cultures, trying different foods, and seeing how creativity and community look in different parts of the world.

What are some things that make you happy?
Outside work I’m someone who appreciates good design, Formula One, enjoys photography, keeps active with DIY projects and an AFOL (IYKYK). I believe in bringing fun and purpose together in everything I do, seeing ideas come to life and turning a plan into something real gives me a lot of joy.

What is your favourite biscuit and why?
The classics are the best. Freshly baked chocolate chip cookies anyone? Their combination of sweetness, chocolatey goodness, and just the right amount of chewiness makes them a winner.

Yes. Cookies are biscuits.

Anything else you would like to share with the world?

Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it

Dry-wit is my favourite

Don't give me too much sugar, unless you want to see me on a sugar-high.
