Emma Lusardi Support Coordinator

What do you do at If U Care Share?

I work as an office-based support coordinator; it’s busy and challenging at times but every day’s different and it’s so rewarding. My team and I add and contact any new referrals that come in, conduct support calls and carry out a variety of admin tasks such as booking appointments and responding to queries from referrers, agencies and people looking for support.

Why did you join If U Care Share?

After fourteen years working as a primary school teacher, I felt it was time to investigate and explore new avenues. Charity work has always been something that interested me, and when I saw this role advertised, it seemed like fate. Having lost people close to me to suicide as well as having my own struggles over the years following post-natal psychosis, I knew this was something I had to do. I joined IUCSF in November 2022 and have never looked back.

If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I used to travel quite a lot before becoming a mother, but one thing I never got to tick off my bucket list was a visit to India. My favourite film is Slumdog Millionaire and ever since seeing it, that has always been my dream! I’d especially like to go to Rajasthan; I’m mesmerised by its colourful art, vibrant culture and incredible architecture.

What are some things that make you happy?

Oversized cups of coffee, wine, hot bubble baths, wine, spoonfuls of Nutella straight from the jar, wine, my boyfriend’s cooking and wine.

What is your favourite biscuit and why?

I suppose if I had to say then it would be a white Kitkat but I would rather have a bar of Toblerone if that’s okay.

Anything else you would like to share with the world?

I couldn’t be bothered to wash my hair for this photoshoot and am now full of regret.
